TransArts@PORGY&BESS - In der Strengen Kammer: Lost & Found

SURFACE CRACKS

An event organised by TransArts - Transdisciplinary Art

The live performance surface cracks is the result of a co-operation between the two courses "Sound" (led by Richard Eigner) and "Crossover Video" (led by Christoph Höschele) of the TransArts class at the University of Applied Arts.

The music will deal with the sonic interpretation of various surface textures. Electronic surfaces, field recordings, circuit bending and granular synthesis meet the organic timbres of violin, guitar and percussion. Christoph Höschele's students will be showing experimental video works and installations that deal with the theme of the "surface". These are supposed trivialities and peripheral phenomena that are brought into the focus of the viewer through their extraction and medial modification. Natural phenomena such as clouds, water, fog or objects such as kaleidoscopes, mirrors and curtains become the protagonists of a visual narrative that enters into a dialogue with sound. Music.
