Psychosocial manifestations of racism

Guest lecture by Wir sind auch Wien (We are also Vienna) – Parissima Taheri and Farah Saad

An event organized by Transcultural Studies as part of the course Echoes of Forgotten Voices – Forms of Transmission Across Generations by Zehra Baraçkılıç.
Parissima Taheri and Farah Saad discuss psychosocial manifestations of experiences of racism and discrimination, historical and intergenerational trauma, and inherited strengths and resilience. Both are initiators of Wir sind auch Wien (We Are Also Vienna), a platform for the mental health of BIPoC that offers anti-racist counseling, workshops, and lectures. Parissima Taheri (psychologist) and Farah Saad (clinical social worker) work at the intersection of psychosocial counseling, research, and teaching, and teach at FH Campus Wien and the University of Vienna. All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.
