On Tuesday, the State Prize for Architecture 2023 of the Ministry of Labour
and Economic Affairs was awarded in 12 categories. The "Future Art Lab of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna"
project by Pichler & Traupmann Architekten ZT GmbH was honoured with a state award in the "Administration/Research" category.
The client was the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft m.b.H (BIG). The jury noted that the compact structure of the "Future Art
Lab" was precisely and thoughtfully integrated into the urban fabric and is characterised by a respectful approach to the
urban outdoor space. The new building also impresses with its complex spatial programme, particularly in the demanding area
of acoustics. It is a successful and balanced concept with special spatial, urban planning and design qualities.
