The University of Applied Arts at the Wiener Festwochen

Applied Love + Our Republics are making Love

Social Design and Institute of Language Arts

Belgrad + Zagreb + Vienna = <3 (maybe)

Aspiring authors, directors, actors, and dramaturges from Croatia, Serbia, and Austria (must) come together to bring something like love to the stage.
The Angewandte will be represented with two artistic contributions at this year's Wiener Festwochen, which will take place from May 16 to June 22, 2025, under the theme “Republic of Love.” The Institute of Language Arts (project management: Nastasja Penzar) will be performing at the festival headquarters in the old ORF Funkhaus together with teachers Tanja Šljivar (Belgrade) and Goran Ferčes and their students.

The setting, designed by the Department of Social Design, will host mini-plays and performances by students from the Academy of Performing Arts in Zagreb, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, and the Institute of Language Arts, who will explore the possibilities of “loving” interaction against the backdrop of current political obstacles to love.

Main event: Wednesday, May 21, 2025, starting at 18:00 at Club der Republik, Angewandte Liebe.

//For everyone under thirty, Wiener Festwochen offers discounted ticket prices!
