NEST by Támas Páll is a 2 channel video installation
included in the current exhibiton
Monkeys,
Machines, and Multiperspectivities. Transmissions from Within the Ludic Mind at AIL, together with this live performance,
Támas Páll explores mediated worldmaking through a dispersed story of contemporary rituals.
The
installation is a manifestation of a research project of the same name, that probed questions of artificiality and sense-making
in relation to computation. In this iteration of NEST, the project is presented as a film set of a dreamwork performance,
where an alter-ego of a performer meets a film producer in a role-play scenario, where they construct a common dream through
digital and ancient cross-reality technologies. Dreamwork as a film and performance series strings together dreamwork
rituals envisioned and role-played through alter-egos and altered-states of consciousness.
Tamás Páll and Nicole
Clore, the characters of the first chapter of Dreamwork, will augment the spatio-temporal reality of the AIL through
a guided tour of gamification in the exhibition. The performance invites the audience to participate in a dreamwork ritual
that goes beyond discussion, it reaches towards hallucination and enfleshing otherworlds, while being grounded in the material
reality of the here and now.
