Feminismus ist keine ausgemachte Sache – und das war er noch nie: es gibt nicht nur einen Feminismus, sondern eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher theoretischer und praktischer Ansätze. Auch heute ist das, was mit Feminismus gemeint ist, umkämpft und umstritten. Dies zeigt sich in der Aushandlung darum, welche Genealogien in feministische Kämpfe vor dem Hintergrund unterschiedlicher politischer und soziokultureller Hintergründe Eingang finden.

Feminism is not a singular concept - and never has been: there is not just one feminism, but a multitude of divergent theoretical and practical approaches. Even today, what is meant by feminism is contested and disputed. This is evident in the negotiation of which genealogies enter into feminist struggles against the backdrop of different political and sociocultural backgrounds.

Feministisch-separatistische Räume bieten einen Ort der kollektiven Fürsorge und Komplizenschaft, reproduzieren bisweilen aber auch Mechanismen der Ausgrenzung. Der Vortrag zeichnet die Versprechen und Grenzen solcher Projekte in der Kunst seit den 1970er Jahren nach.
